Introduction

The Bowes Museum houses the greatest collection of fine and decorative arts in the North of England. It has been open to the public since 1892 and provides access to many unique collections and great works of art through its exhibition programme and display, care of collections and education work. People of all ages and experience find inspiration and encouragement through the work of The Bowes Museum.

The Museum is a registered educational charity providing high quality arts based education services to people of all ages and backgrounds. There are opportunities for individuals, companies and trusts and foundations to support the work of the charity.
